Mike Forni is the Chief Financial Officer of Hilliard Martinez Gonzales. Mike has over 25 years of combined financial and legal experience. Mike started in auditing with the Big Four accounting firm, KPMG, after graduating Cum Laude from the University of Arizona. He obtained his Certified Public Accounting license and was recruited by one of his clients at KPMG to be the Finance Manager where he was instrumental in growing the company’s revenues to over $300 million.

After working in accounting and finance, Mike received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 2001. During law school, Mike worked at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under SMU’s Observer Program during his third year of law school. Mike began his legal career at Jenkens & Gilchrist, PC, which was the largest law firm in Dallas at the time. Afterwards, Mike founded a boutique law firm, where he was the Managing Partner for over twelve years. During that time, Mike argued in front of the Fifth Circuit twice and served as lead counsel in numerous trials, arbitrations and appeals involving complex cases.

Prior to joining HMG, Mike was the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of an international technology company in Dallas, Texas. In that position, he was instrumental in closing and integrating the company’s international acquisitions and operations. Mike spent a significant amount of time in Canada and India working towards innovation and streamlining operations with global considerations.

Throughout his career, Mike has provided leadership in numerous complex business transactions and litigation matters. Mike looks forward to building innovation, leveraging technology and continuing the national platform of cases and clients maintained by HMG.
