This home has hosted several leading Newton County businesses. This house was constructed in 1912 by Turpentine Producer L.M. Autrey. In 1918 he sold it to the N.A. Dawson, a local road contractor. From 1923 – 1979 it was the home of local lumber man and civic leader, Thomas Williams. The home has a Texas Medalllion and was built in 1912 of long leaf pine. It was molded after the Malbis Plantation near Mobile, Alabama. The lovely home features the classical and victorian style.
