Allan Pixton

Allan Pixton joined Hilliard Martinez Gonzales LLP as the managing partner of HMG’s new Chicago office in May 2020. Mr. Pixton is a seasoned product liability, mass tort, and class action litigator with first chair trial experience representing injured plaintiffs in civil rights matters, as well as securing multimillion dollar settlements in plaintiff-side suits on behalf of corporate clients.

Prior to joining HMG, Mr. Pixton was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he gained extensive experience managing all facets of civil ligation in some of the highest profile mass tort and product liability litigation of the last decade (e.g., In re Deepwater Horizon and In re General Motors LLC Ignition Switch). Upon his departure from Kirkland, the court overseeing the GM ignition switch litigation issued an order (View Document) acknowledging Mr. Pixton for “serving as the go-to person for New GM from the very beginning of the litigation,” and further expressing gratitude to Mr. Pixton for “provid[ing] extraordinary assistance to the Court and its staff—helping the Court (and counsel on both sides) keep track of cases, motions, deadlines, and all manner of other things.”

Mr. Pixton has briefed and/or argued hundreds of successful motions, ranging from discovery motions to motions for summary judgment, as well as successful appeals before the Second, Third, Fifth, Seventh, and Tenth Circuits. Mr. Pixton maintains an active pro bono practice that has included, by way of example, representing Dreamers in securing and renewing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival status, successfully prosecuting civil rights claims (including winning precedent setting appellate opinions), organizing and staffing citizenship clinics, and numerous immigration and refugee matters.

Mr. Pixton received his law degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and his undergraduate degree in history from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
