National Law Journal Top 100 Verdict List

Texas' Tort Reform law called unfair
Bob Hilliard speaks to KSAT reporter Paul Venema regarding the case of Connie Spears, who in 2010 lost both legs due to an emergency room misdiagnosis. Her case was tossed out of court because she could not prove that the ER doctors acted intentionally with "willful and wanton negligence."
In the interview Bob Hilliard states, "the odds are long but we've made the decision to do what we can to help her."

A presentation examining major lawsuits involving distracted driving features one of HMG's cases. In 2010, a Corpus Christi woman was injured in a vehicle accident where the other motorist, a Coca-Cola employee, was talking on a cell phone while driving. The accident led to a jury awarding the injured motorist $21 million.

HMG's Bob Hilliard interviewed regarding Former State School Employee Indictment in Fighting Incident:
"I wish I could say that this surprises me, but when I saw what was going on in the State School Fight Club case, and then I learned more about what the trend was around the country to take care of these special needs adults, most of whom don't have families and cannot defend themselves, nor do they have anyone checking on them," said Bob Hilliard, an attorney for State School victims. "So they are truly, 100-percent at the mercy of predators like this woman."

Patients like Connie Spears, a San Antonio woman who had both legs amputated following an emergency room misdiagnosis in 2010, has never been able to recover any damages from the doctors or hospital where she was misdiagnosed. Toyota Reaches $1 Billion Settlement Agreement
Do you drive a Toyota vehicle? Toyota Motor Corp. has agreed to pay more than $1 billion to settle claims that its vehicles suddenly and unintentionally accelerated. HMG's Bob Hilliard has been handling Toyota cases for years and is the co-lead liaison for the Texas MDL (multi-district litigation).
